Curcuma Pink Pearl
Dream-like shades of pink embody this plant’s flowers as their dainty tulip shapes captivate any eyes that go past, especially fluttery creatures with colourful wings. The light pink flowers grow illustrated with delicate pearly white at the tips of their petals. The long narrow foliage surrounds these beauteous blooms and compliments the tropical energy protruding from this plant. The Pink Pearl is a smaller variety of the curcuma family yet makes for such a bright presence anywhere that it is able to see some sun and love.
PLANT ME
With the top of the bulb 2cm below the surface of a good quality, well draining soil or potting mix between the months of June and October.
PUT ME
Somewhere lightly shaded and warm is perfect for me to flourish either in a pot or in the ground.
WATER ME
Once only after planting, then not again until the first green shoots begin to appear which is usually from September / October.
FEED ME
Balanced, slow release.
MY FLOWERS
Appear during the warmer Summer months and are stunning left on the plant, or as a cut flower used in arrangements.
NOTES
Don’t be tempted to pull off dead foliage at the start of winter as this may cause damage to the rhizome.
