Alocasia Yucatan Princess

Native of South East Asia, the mysterious and attractive Yucatan Princess is a black form of Alocasia suited for shade gardens, tropical gardens and interior spaces. It’s sleek and striking form will make your space feel like an urban jungle oasis. Dark chocolate violet stems are thick and strong to support the glossy, leather-like leaves with their mauve-brown undersides. The full glossy leaves sit upright, are puckered and command interest from anyone whose eyes it lands on. PLANT ME

In your favourite well-draining pot or in a shaded or tropical garden.

KEEP ME IN

A sheltered position with filtered light and a comfortable temperature. If you feel I need some love place me in the kitchen or bathroom for a while.

PUT ME OUT

In a tropical environment with plenty of warmth and humidity.

WATER ME

Little and often is the key. Don’t let my soil dry out as I like them to stay moist.

FEED ME

While I’m growing in the warmer months feed me monthly with a slow-release fertiliser.

I LIKE

A comfortable and humid environment. With proper care I can thrive both indoors and outdoors.

Keep out of reach from children and pets as I am toxic when ingested. Can cause skin and eye irritation.

Care Tips	I don't like the cold so pay attention to what temperatures you find comfortable and keep me there (I do love humidity). If you’re keeping me indoors, please remember to wipe away dust on my leaves every so often so that I can breathe sufficiently. With a sharp pair of scissors, you can prune away any damaged or dying leaves. Mist me every now and again especially if you don’t live in a humid environment. Place me on a plate with water and rocks to create some natural humidity around me and my radiant leaves.
