Alocasia Ebony

Angelic, the Alocasia Ebony is an exotic foliage plant with lengthy deep green leaves held up by striking ebony stems. Contrasting elegantly, the leaves appear to have been gently dipped in silver that sheens delicately and draws attention to the light-green iridescent veins. This plant is perfect for adding that tropical feel to the home while remaining unique, adding something a little bit edgy.

PLANT ME

In your favourite well-draining pot, neutral colours like black and white suit this beauty well. Can also be in a shaded or tropical garden (with lots of other shade loving plants) or in terrariums/terrestrial pots.

KEEP ME IN

A sheltered position with bright filtered light and a comfortable temperature. If you feel I need some love, place me in the kitchen or bathroom for a while.

PUT ME OUT

In a tropical environment with plenty of warmth and humidity. Just make sure I am sheltered as the sun can scorch my leaves.

WATER ME

Check my soil before watering, you don’t want my soil to be wet all the time, just keep it moist by making sure the top layer is dry before you water me.

FEED ME

A liquid fertiliser in low amounts regularly will set me up to be a strong healthy growing plant.

I LIKE

A comfortable and humid environment. With proper care I can thrive both indoors and outdoors. A water and pebble tray under my pot is great to promote humidity. You can also use a humidifier if you’re feeling fancy and live in a particularly stark climate.

Care Tips	If you see yellowing on my leaves this can be a sign of overwatering. To avoid this ensure my top layer of soil is dry before watering again. Placing a pebble tray near me will help keep my environment humid. Browning of leaves can indicate not enough moisture in the soil and/or a lack of humidity. Leaves can fade and die in the colder winter days but don’t worry as this is just a short period of dormancy. Just be sure to water your plant less during this time.
